Tested out my new wide angle camera lens at Gatineau Park. Have some money making plans for that lens...
Recently I designed and built a new coffee table using steel and flagstone. It was an excellent excuse to finally purchase a welder after wanting one for many years. Below shows the equipment I used to build the piece (steel tubing and bar, large sheet of flagstone, and of course the awesome welder I picked up on sale).
To build the piece I cut all the steel pieces with a grinder to fit the size for the flagstone. The sheet of flagstone lays into a rectangle of L-bar so that the edges are hidden by the steel. Square tubing is used for the legs. Below shows the frame being welded and grinded (my welding skills are still in development). Once the frame was together, I placed the stone onto the frame to assure it fit. Small spacers are put in to push up the stone so that it is flush with the top of the L-bar.
